The Light Shines Brightest in Great Darkness
For many years the rescue of the Jews from Hitler’s death camps was hidden from the world. Only after the fall of Communism in Bulgaria did the rest of the world begin to learn about the people who saved the Jews and even now most people do not know the full story.
The Saving of Bulgarian Jews tells the stories of the triumph of the human spirit over the forces of evil that sought the destruction of the Jewish people in Bulgaria during World War II.
Almost fifty thousand Bulgarian Jews were saved because of King Boris’ actions during World War II. Without him, there is no question that the Jews of Bulgaria would have died in Hitler’s death camps. However, it was the Nazis that controlled virtually everything pertaining to the Jews and they determined the fate of millions.
